Junk removal
Junk removal across the Upstate: pricing and process
Patriot Hauling is veteran-owned junk removal serving Upstate South Carolina from the Greenville area. You talk to me, not a call center.
How a junk removal pickup works
I'm Ian McAlister, a Marine Corps veteran, and I run the truck. Here is how every job works:
- I walk the job with you.
- I give you a price before anything goes on the trailer.
- No surprise fees after the fact.
- Most of the time, I haul it the same visit.
I confirm by phone before anything is on the calendar. If the trailer is free and you are in the Greenville area, I try to come that day. What to send before you call.
What I haul
Residential junk removal
Single item or a whole house. I load it, haul it, and dispose of it. You do not have to.
Commercial junk removal
Offices, retail, restaurants, warehouses, property managers. Recurring pickups if you need them.
Furniture removal
Couches, mattresses, desks, the stuff that will not fit in a regular trash run.
Appliance removal
Washers, dryers, fridges, water heaters. I take them off your hands.
Estate and property cleanouts
Estates, foreclosures, rentals, move-outs. I clear the property so the next step can happen.
Construction debris removal
Drywall, lumber, flooring, leftover from a reno. Trailer work, not dumpsters.
Small demolition and deck removal
Sheds, interior tear-out, leftover demo debris that fits the trailer. You talk to me first.
Yard waste and storm debris removal
Brush, branches, leftover wood, fence, storm blowdown.
Garage and attic cleanouts
Garages, sheds, basements, attics, crawlspaces. I leave the space empty.
Hot tub and playset removal
Hot tubs, swing sets, trampolines, sheds.

What affects the junk removal price
I price the job standing next to it, before anything is loaded. These are the things that change the number:
- What is going. A couch, a dead fridge, a garage pile, and remodel scraps are different loads.
- How much of it there is. One couch is a pickup. A packed two-car garage is a cleanout.
- The route out. A pile in the driveway and the same pile in an upstairs bedroom are different jobs. Stairs, narrow doors, tight turns, a long walk to the truck, and where a truck and trailer can park all count.
- Odd-shaped or attached items. Name anything odd-shaped, broken, or still attached.
- Items that need a separate conversation. Paint, chemicals, oil, batteries, and pesticides. List them on their own when you call.
- What stays. If only three pieces in a room are leaving, say which three.
A list and a few wide photos get you a ballpark faster, but I still walk the job before the final price.
Pricing and payment
Free estimates. The price is the price. No hidden fees. You pay after the job by cash, check, card, Venmo, or Zelle. Discounts for veterans, military, and first responders.
Neighbors already rate the work 5.0 on Thumbtack.
Not a dumpster in the driveway
I do not drop a dumpster. Junk removal is a truck and trailer I load and take. Want to load it yourself? Dump trailer rental is separate: the trailer is dropped off and picked up for you.
Where I haul
Serving Upstate South Carolina from the Greenville area.
Junk removal in Greenville
Greenville is home base. If the trailer is free and you are in the Greenville area, I try to come that day, and I confirm by phone first. Older homes around North Main and Augusta Road often have narrow stairs or a basement with one way out, so mention those before the visit.
Junk removal in Simpsonville
Simpsonville is down I-385 from Greenville. Crawl spaces, pull-down attics, and full garages around Five Forks and off Fairview Road are the jobs that get put off there. Tell me where the hatch is and roughly how big it is; a phone photo from the hatch helps.
Junk removal in Spartanburg
Spartanburg is a drive up I-85, so it is a longer run and not a same-day promise. Nothing goes on the calendar until I call back to confirm a time. I carry it out of the house, from the older homes in Converse Heights and Hampton Heights to rentals near Wofford and Converse.

Junk removal questions
- How is junk removal priced?
- It depends on what is going, how much of it there is, and the route out: a pile in the driveway and the same pile in an upstairs bedroom are different jobs. Estimates are free, and you get the number before anything is loaded.
- Do I need to carry everything to the curb?
- No. I load it from where it sits: inside the house, the garage, a basement, an attic, a crawl space, or the yard. Mention stairs, narrow doors, and where a truck and trailer can park.
- Is there anything you will not haul?
- Paint, chemicals, oil, batteries, and pesticides need a separate conversation. List them on their own when you call so I can tell you what I can take.
- What happens to the things you haul away?
- Usable pieces go to donation or recycling when possible. The rest leaves on the trailer for disposal.
- Do you haul demolition and remodel debris?
- Yes, small demolition and remodel debris that fits the trailer: sheds, decks, interior tear-out, drywall scraps, lumber, and flooring. I tell you if it fits before you schedule.
